Orthomolecular Medicine
"Orthomolecular Medicine s the maintenance of good health and the treatment of illnesses by changing the concentrations of substances within the human body, which occur naturally in the body and are essential to health."

Therapy with Vitamins, Minerals, Trace Elements, Enzymes and Endogenous Substances.
In Europe, orthomolecular medicine - without explicitly using this name - has been in use for a long time. It is applied to acute and chronic illnesses, but also as a preventative medicine. In particular, therapists using natural medicine have come to realize that nutrient components such as copper, magnesium, zinc, selenium, ascorbic acid, etc. can be effective tools. They have a measurable impact on health, illnesses and old age symptoms.
Like all natural medicine therapy processes, orthomolecular medicine uses natural regulatory mechanisms and biochemical connections in our bodies: It tries to prevent, improve and heal diseases by changing the molecular concentration of substances which occur naturally in our bodies. Activation and re-activation of the cell organism, stabilization of the physiological balance, early correction of the energy and metabolic capacities, optimization of the regenerative mechanisms... to name just the most important processes. Here, prevention and treatment go hand in hand.
The basis for this work is the so called whole bloodanalysis, which only special laboratories conduct. The results provide exact information about concentrations of, for example sodium, potassium, iron, copper and zinc within the red blood cells. It is here that the substances unfold their effectiveness. Other tests show the concentration levels outside of the red blood cells.
