Qi Gong – the Healing Exercise
One of the five pillars of the Chinese healing teachings is “exercise” - Qi Gong (spoken: Tschi-Gung, meaning: working with Qi).
The aim of Qi Gong is to collect, build up, strengthen, regulate and bring life energy into flow (= Qi). Thereby balancing the body’s Qi.
According to the teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a certain life energy flows along pathways, the meridians, through the body. The free flow of energy is essential for a healthy body and soul. Blockages in this energy flow can result in illnesses and problems.
Qi Gong is supposed to clear these blockages. Qi Gong includes various methods for relaxation and harmonious movement.

Taiji Quan is one possible form of Qi Gong exercise. Taiji Quan, as part of the five pillars, is a meaningful addition to the other four pillars:
- Herbal therapy
- Tuina massage
- Acupuncture
- Nutrition
